Have the Best Cyber Monday Ever!

December 2, better known as this year’s Cyber Monday, is just three weeks away! By now your site should be optimized to handle a boom in visitors and you can focus on the visuals. Here are a few last minute tips to help you have your best Cyber Monday sale ever!

1.      Create Excitement

Start promoting your holiday sale now on your homepage. Entice customers with a countdown feature and festive theme for the site. Countdowns and holidays go hand in hand, from the advent calendar of Christmas to the classic “New Year’s Eve Countdown.” Channel that holiday spirit by implementing a countdown feature and tease your Cyber Monday Sale.

2.      Host a Holiday Sale/Promotion

Now that you have gotten potential clients excited about your sale, it is time to make them customers. Shoppers choose to buy on Cyber Monday because of the bargains they are expected to receive. To catch these savvy shoppers, you will need to have discounts that compete with the top eCommerce retailers.

3.      Send an Email Blast

Once your site is festive and ready for Cyber Monday, you can send an email announcement to your client list. 46% of shoppers hear about the best deals through emails from retailers (venturebeat.com). Tap into that market by releasing your own email and notify your customers of the sales they can expect on Cyber Monday. This will also help to fuel anticipation about your sale.

4.      Start a Pinterest Contest

Expanding on last week’s blog topic, utilize your Pinterest Account to draw potential customers to your store. Build up your brand personality by encouraging customers to share holiday recipes, crafts, and more. Make sure you let customers know they need to tag you so you can pin their idea to your holiday board. Pick a random pinner at random and give award them a special Cyber Monday coupon or giveaway.

5.      Offer Free Shipping

Free shipping may trump all other promotions (though it is highly encouraged that you implement them). A study found that “a free shipping offer that saves a customer $6.99 is more appealing to many than a discount that cuts the purchase price by $10” (knowledge.wharton.upenn.edu). Give shoppers exactly what they want, and waive shipping fees for one day. If you want, you can set a threshold so that shoppers must spend x amount of money to get free shipping.

With these five tips, you can promote and outfit your store to have the best Cyber Monday ever! By strategically creating buzz and excitement from now until December 2nd, you’re sure to attract a good crowd.
